Reflecting On My 2015 Goals: How Did I Do?

Happy-New-Year-Clip-Art-Free

This time last year I wrote about 5 goals I had for 2015. Here's my reflection of the year and these goals.

First of all, this year went by incredibly fast! Faster than any year I can think of. It was certainly a year of change and growth for me, which has been both difficult and rewarding. But without further ado...

A New Purpose

Displaying 58673.jpg

I started this blog summer 2014 after discovering fashion and beauty bloggers. I loved it so much I wanted to do the same. I wanted to use my writing skills to share my life and become a part of this world. However, I have always struggled with being a perfectionist and I had a hard time making my ideas come to life for fear of the final product not being good enough, hence my limited number of posts. Don't get me wrong I love fashion and beauty, but I felt like I had no original ideas or opinions to post. So I posted about my trips and events in my life...and I enjoyed it, just not entirely. It was in this time that I had to face a question, Why blog if I don't enjoy it? I wasn't sure of the answer.

So I have taken a long time to reflect. Not just on my blog's intent, but on life.

Spring Break

I was lucky enough to spend spring break in Florida at a Christian conference for college students called Big Break. I hadn't been to Florida in so long and I was dying to leave the snow of the Northeast, so I packed my bag and headed down south.

Old Virginia: Part 3

Over the course of the weekend we partook in the fun of the convention and did a little exploring of Lynchburg, including a fun late-night trip to Walmart! One of the highlights of the trip was the dinner on the first night where everyone was encouraged to dress up in period-style clothing. My sister and I thought ahead and hit up The Salvation Army where we found these gems...

Old Virginia: Part 2

My sister, Mom and I were equally as thrilled when we entered the Walton's Mountain Museum. The museum use to be the school house, serving as an elementary and high school until 1955, grade school until 1991 and is now Schuyler's community center as well.
We ran from room to room, oooing and aaaing over the relics and replicas, relishing in it all.

#pinkforHannah

It's easy to forget that tragedy can occur in your life. The "It will never happen to me" mindset is so prevalent that when something tragic does occur, we are left reeling from the impact.

You are likely wondering what has prompted me to write such a post? So I'll tell you.

Change Is a Good Thing: My 2015 Goals

A new year typically means a new you. It's the time to start fresh, make changes, and improve yourself any way you wish.

I've definitely been feeling this, but I've never been one to make new year's resolutions. In the past I have found them futile and not something I have ever stuck to, unfortunately. So this year I thought I would make goals instead in hopes they will be more practical to stick to. I have always been told that writing something down makes it more real and helps you remember or stick to what you wrote down more so than if you didn't. So that is precisely what I'm doing!

I've narrowed down my goals to five general statements, so here it goes...

Happy Birthday!

Today is my twentieth birthday...YAY! What better day to start my blog than today. Although my birthday is January 1st, I always feel like it begins the night before on New Year's Eve as everyone prepares to ring in the New Year. This year I planned a low-key night with my family.
